Why should we care about them?

Understanding where concepts came from and how they were developed allows us to better understand the knowledge we have and have a better appreciation of the knowledge. Knowing about ancient Indian mathematicians help develop a deeper understanding of mathematics and how that field of study developed over time and the reason it developed in different places. It allows us to appreciate the knowledge that we have today, seeing where it came from.

Giving credit to Mathematicians who contributed to that field allow others who are studying that field to have more sources to refer to and see the process in which they got that answer. In this context where Indian Mathematicians discovered many fundamental concepts of mathematics without the use of the technology, later mathematicians had, gives researchers ideas and efficient methods of solving problems without the need of technology.
